1. Polyester - The Market Mainstay
Characteristics: High strength, good elasticity, abrasion and tensile strength, excellent wrinkle resistance and shape retention. It has good lightfastness, but requires finishing to achieve excellent UV resistance.
Factory Applications: The preferred base fabric for most mid-to-high-end outdoor covers. We manufacture polyester fabrics of different thicknesses and strengths by adjusting the yarn thickness and weaving density.
2. Polyethylene - An Economical Choice
Characteristics: Also known as PE material, it is lightweight, low-cost, and has excellent water resistance. However, it has a stiff feel, is prone to aging, has poor breathability, and is easily brittle and cracked under prolonged sun exposure.
Factory Applications: Mostly used for disposable or short-term low-end products, such as temporary dust covers. Not recommended for furniture covers requiring long-term outdoor use.
3. Nylon - A Representative of High Strength and Lightweight
Characteristics: Higher strength than polyester, more abrasion resistant, and lighter. However, its lightfastness and UV resistance are inferior to polyester, and prolonged exposure to sunlight can easily cause discoloration and a decrease in strength.
Factory Applications: It is used in scenarios with extreme requirements for weight and strength (such as covers for large mobile equipment), but for regular outdoor furniture covers, its cost-effectiveness is not as good as polyester.
